The Files and Media tab in Digital Showroom lets you browse, preview, and download the media files attached to a product. This article explains how to navigate the asset gallery, filter and group assets, open previews, and download files.

Access the asset gallery

To browse product assets in Digital Showroom, open any product details page and click the Files and Media tab. The tab displays an asset gallery showing all media files attached to the product through asset collection attributes in your Akeneo PIM.

Asset display

In the Digital Showroom asset gallery, assets appear as thumbnail cards. Each card shows:

• Thumbnail: A preview of the asset — an image thumbnail, video thumbnail, or PDF icon.
• Asset label: The name of the asset.

View modes

To switch between view modes in the Digital Showroom asset gallery, use the toggle in the top right corner of the gallery. Two modes are available:

• Grid view: Assets displayed as thumbnail cards in a grid layout.
• List view: Assets displayed in a table format with additional details. In list view, each row includes a Download button for quick access.

Filter assets

The Digital Showroom asset gallery provides several ways to narrow down displayed assets. The filters available depend on what your administrator has enabled for this portfolio — up to 20 filters can be configured.

On desktop, filters appear in a sidebar to the left of the asset gallery. On mobile, filters open in a drawer.

Filter by asset family

If your product has assets from multiple asset families, use the Asset Families filter to show only assets from specific families.

1. In the filter sidebar, locate the Asset Families section.
2. Click one or more family names to toggle them on or off.
3. The gallery updates to show only assets from the selected families.

Filter by media type

Use the Media Type filter to narrow assets by their file type:

• Image: Photos, illustrations, and other image files.
• PDF: PDF documents such as technical sheets, catalogs, or manuals.
• Video: Video files.

• Other: Any other file types.

• In the filter sidebar, locate the Media Type section.

• Click one or more media types to filter the gallery.

Filter by asset attributes

Depending on your portfolio configuration, additional filters based on asset attributes may appear in the sidebar — for example, filtering by season, usage rights, or any other attribute defined on the asset family in your Akeneo PIM.

Search within assets

Use the search field in the gallery toolbar to find specific assets by name.

1. Type your search term in the search field.
2. The gallery updates in real time to show only assets matching your search.

If your search or filters return no results, the gallery displays the message "No results match your filters".

Group assets

You can organize how assets are displayed in the Digital Showroom asset gallery using the grouping dropdown in the gallery toolbar. Three grouping modes are available:

• By media type: Assets are grouped into sections by their file type (images, videos, PDFs, and other files).
• By media family: Assets are grouped into sections by the asset family they belong to (for example, "Packshots", "Lifestyle", or "Technical Documents").
• Ungrouped: All assets are displayed in a flat list with no grouping.

Select a mode from the grouping dropdown to switch between views.

Preview assets

To preview an asset in Digital Showroom, click on any asset card to open a full-screen preview. The preview behavior depends on the asset type:

• Images: Displayed at full size in the preview area.
• Videos: Play directly in the preview with video controls.
• PDFs: Rendered inline so you can read the document directly.

The preview panel includes a sidebar on the right showing additional asset details: the asset label, family, last update and creation dates, asset attributes, and a media carousel with thumbnails for all files attached to the asset.

Navigate between media

If an asset contains multiple media files, you can navigate between them in the preview:

• Click on a media thumbnail in the sidebar to switch to that file.
• Use the left arrow and right arrow keyboard keys to navigate between files.
• Press Escape to close the preview.

Download assets

Download a single asset

To download a single asset in Digital Showroom:

• From the preview: Open the asset preview and click Download asset in the top right corner of the preview area.
• From list view: In list view, click the Download button on the asset row.

Select and download multiple assets

To download several assets at once in Digital Showroom:

1. Click the checkbox on each asset card you want to include in the download. Only images and PDFs can be selected — videos and other file types cannot be selected for bulk download.
2. To quickly select all visible images and PDFs, click Select all (N) above the asset gallery, where N is the number of selectable assets matching the current filters.
3. A banner appears at the bottom of the screen showing the number of selected assets.
4. Click Download selected (N) in the banner to start the download.

A progress bar shows the download status as selected assets are packaged into a ZIP archive.

Clear selection

To deselect all assets:

• Click Clear selection in the selection banner at the bottom of the screen, or
• Click Unselect all above the gallery to deselect all currently selected assets.
