We’re continuing to expand the power and flexibility of the Rules Engine Next Gen with three new capabilities designed to help you automate data cleansing, standardization, and time-based logic — all with less manual work and more precision.

✏️ New Action: Replace

Clean and standardize text values automatically.

What it enables: Apply one or multiple search-and-replace operations on Text and Text Area attributes — including words, characters, or hidden special characters.

Why it matters: Clean imported data at scale without manual corrections.

Example: Remove hidden encoding characters introduced during Excel imports across thousands of product descriptions in one operation.

🧩 New Action: Map

Standardize uncontrolled source data into structured PIM values.

What it enables: Map source attribute values to target attributes based on configured mappings.

Supported today: Text → Simple Select and Text → Multi Select

Why it matters: Turn free-text source data into governed, controlled values automatically.

Example: Map SAP text values into controlled Simple Select attributes to ensure consistency across channels and reporting.

📏 New Automation Capability: Automatic Measurement Conversion

Adapt measurement values automatically based on locale, country, or channel requirements.

What it enables: Automatically convert measurement attribute values depending on the selected locale or target market requirements.

Why it matters: Ensures product data is always compliant and consistent across regions without manual conversions.

Example: Automatically convert product dimensions or weight units depending on the destination market or channel configuration.

⏱️ New Date & Time Operator: NOW

Bring real-time precision to time-based automation.

What it enables: Use the NOW (date, hour, minute) operator in Rules Engine conditions and actions, across execution modes.

Why it matters: Track and automate time-sensitive product events with full accuracy.

Example: Automatically stamp the exact date and time when a compliance flag or publication status is updated.

Asset Versioning: Review History and Restore Versions With Ease

Introducing a new governance layer in Akeneo DAM that provides a detailed history of asset changes, including who made the change and when. With Asset Versioning you can easily audit changes and correct errors by instantly restoring previous versions with a few clicks, instead of spending time recreating work. 

To get started, simply open any asset and click the History button in the top right-hand corner. From there, you can browse up to 20 versions from the last 30 days. If you find a version you need to recover, clicking Restore will instantly create a brand-new version of the asset containing those historical values, ensuring your audit trail remains completely intact without deleting any existing history. 

By default all users can view asset history but only users with edit permissions can restore versions. Your PIM Admin can adjust these settings as needed.
