⚙️ More Flexible Product Modeling in PIM

We've expanded the way you can structure product families and simplified the management of large variant catalogs.

✨ What's new?

  • 🔢 Use text, number, multi-select, or reference entity multi-link attributes as variant axes, giving you greater flexibility when modeling products without creating unnecessary select attributes.
  • Bulk assign attributes to variant levels, making Family Variant configuration significantly faster for large catalogs.
  • 📤 Export only the hierarchy levels you need, thanks to new filters for parent models and hierarchy levels across all product export profiles.

Spend less time configuring complex product models and more time managing your catalog. These improvements reduce manual work, simplify catalog initialization, and give you greater control over how product hierarchies are exported.

🛍️ Richer Variant Experiences in Digital Showroom

Digital Showroom now reflects your product catalog more faithfully by displaying product models and variants as they are organized in Akeneo. This provides internal teams, such as sales and customer support, with a clearer, more consistent browsing experience.

  • 🗂️ A new Product Model overview page lets teams browse all available variants with adaptive filters such as material, finish, or color.
  • 🎛️ Choose between three variant selector layouts including dropdowns, buttons, or horizontal selectors to match your preferred shopping experience.
  • 🏷️ Customize Product Model labels independently from variant labels to better reflect your merchandising strategy.

💎 Scale Reference Entities Even Further

Reference Entities can now support up to 10 million records, a tenfold increase from the previous limit (1M).

Whether you're managing large product catalogs, spare parts, regulatory information, or extensive product reference data, you can now model significantly larger datasets without hitting scalability limits.

🔄 Track Product Changes More Intelligently

A new API update date allows you to identify products that have changed not only because the product itself was updated, but also because one of its linked Assets or Reference Entity records was modified.

This enhancement simplifies synchronization for applications and integrations that periodically query Akeneo for product updates, helping ensure that downstream systems stay aligned with the latest product information.

Why it matters

Previously, updates made to linked Assets or Reference Entity records weren't reflected in the product's update date, making it difficult for polling-based integrations to detect every meaningful change.

With this new API capability, you can more easily retrieve products impacted by linked entity updates—without having to build complex comparison logic.
