AI-Enhanced Enrichment: Broader Coverage, Smarter Guidance, and More Control

Type: Improvement | Feature: Productivity Data quality Automation | Packaging: Growth Advanced Premium | 📖 Read the doc

This month, Akeneo’s Generative AI takes a major leap forward — going beyond simple text generation to become a true data quality and productivity accelerator.
Here’s what’s new:

  • Structured Data Enrichment: GenAI can now populate Number and Yes/No (Boolean) attributes, turning vague product descriptions into structured, reliable data (e.g., filling battery_life_hours = 40, eco_certified = Yes).
  • Automatic Measurement Extraction & Unit Conversion: Extract technical specs like dimensions, weight, or water resistance directly from PDFs or assets — the AI reads, converts, and populates values in the right unit automatically (e.g., 4.3 cm → 43 mm, 50 m → 5 bar).
  • Reference Entities Support: AI now understands and selects predefined values from your brand, color, or material lists — ensuring consistent, structured data without manual dropdown selections.
  • One-Click AI Configuration Duplication: Instantly clone any AI configuration to test prompts, adapt content for new markets, or A/B test without starting from scratch.
  • Refine & Adapt Existing Content: Instead of overwriting approved copy, the AI can now read and improve existing text — perfect for SEO optimization, seasonal campaigns, or tone adjustments without losing brand voice.

Together, these upgrades make Akeneo’s AI-Enhanced Enrichment more precise, trustworthy, and enterprise-ready than ever, helping your teams enrich, adapt, and govern product data with confidence.

Smarter Onboarding & Modeling with the Data Architect Agent

Type: Improvement | Feature: Governance Productivity | Packaging: Growth Advanced Premium | 📖 Read the doc

The Data Architect Agent (DAA) continues to evolve, helping teams model faster, understand better, and import smarter. This month, we’re introducing powerful enhancements that make getting started — and optimizing your data model — easier than ever.

🌟 Key Enhancements:

  • Import Product Samples Instantly: During the Apply phase, DAA can now import a sample of up to 500 products along with the full catalog structure (attributes, families, variants, reference entities, and assets). This helps teams visualize their model in action and kickstart projects with real product data.
  • Reset Sandboxes in One Click: Need a fresh start? You can now reset your sandbox instance directly from the DAA when importing a data model — perfect for clean testing or new demos.
  • Faster Attribute Assignments: Easily assign attributes to families thanks to a brand-new Attribute Assignment tab, designed to make quick, intuitive adjustments on generated models.
  • Clearer Source Mapping: A new Source File tab bridges the gap between your input files and generated model, helping you understand exactly how DAA interprets and maps your data.
  • Localized Technical Codes: Define a specific locale for technical codes to ensure data models meet your language and system requirements.

✨ Remember the Audit tab introduced last month?
It just got even better! You can now use it on existing PIM configurations — instantly analyze, visualize, and document your current data model, even if it wasn’t created with DAA. Go try it — it’s invaluable for understanding and optimizing your catalog structure!

Smarter Automation: Triggered Rules & Workflow Step Automation

Type: New | Feature: Governance Productivity | Packaging: Growth Advanced Premium | 📖 Read the doc

Bring agility and precision to your enrichment workflows with real-time* and event-based automation across Akeneo PIM.

Rules Engine: Triggered Mode

  • What it is: *A new event-driven execution mode that automatically runs rules whenever a product or variant is updated. While execution may still depend on other active jobs in the queue, rules now trigger dynamically instead of waiting for scheduled runs.
  • Why it matters: Increase responsiveness and keep product data up to date without manual intervention. This flexible, near-real-time automation helps teams react faster to catalog changes and maintain consistent, compliant, high-quality information across the PIM.

Workflow-Based Rules: Step Automation

  • What it is: A new capability that connects your Collaboration Workflows to the Rules Engine, enabling rules to execute automatically when a workflow step starts or completes.
  • Why it matters: Streamline enrichment by linking automation directly to your team’s review and validation process — fewer manual actions, faster approvals, and more consistent data every step of the way.

💡 Tip: Combine Triggered Rules with Workflow-based automation to create a fully connected enrichment engine — where humans, systems, and AI collaborate seamlessly in real time.

Small Enhancements, Big Impact

Type: Improvement | Feature: Governance Productivity Data quality | Packaging: Growth Advanced Premium | 📖 Read the doc

Because sometimes the smallest updates make the biggest difference — this month’s collection of improvements brings more flexibility, stronger governance, and smoother collaboration across Akeneo.

  1. Smarter Asset Filtering via API: You can now filter assets by attribute values—not just codes or dates—using AND/OR operators for more precise, high-performance queries (e.g., “all assets where Brand = Awesome Brand”). Say goodbye to heavy data calls and hello to faster, more relevant results.
  2. Smarter Collaboration Workflows: You can now design your workflow’s Product Selection with AND/OR and grouped logic, offering greater control and fewer workflows to manage. This brings consistency with the Rules Engine and simplifies workflow orchestration for PIM owners.
  3. Enhanced Governance for Reference Entities: Permissions now apply to Reference Entities just like they do for Assets, giving you finer control over who can view or export which entities. This marks another key step toward stronger governance and true multi-brand management within a single PIM.
  4. More Flexible Table Attributes: Table attributes now dynamically adjust their maximum number of rows based on column count—up to 1,250 rows for smaller tables (2 columns - 100 rows with a 25-column table)! This gives teams much greater freedom to structure data without hitting technical limits.

Together, these enhancements streamline workflows, strengthen governance, and empower teams to manage complex catalogs with ease.
