What Are AI Configurations?

AI Configurations provide a single, dedicated area within Akeneo PIM for managing all your AI-related content generation settings. Create, edit, and test all AI setups from one central page.

This unified approach ensures that your enrichment logic is consistent across products, channels, and locales, while also reducing duplication and configuration effort. It lays the foundation for scalable, automated product content creation powered by AI.

Accessing the AI Configurations Page

You can access the AI Configurations page through your main navigation:

• Settings → AI Configurations

From here, you can:

• Browse all existing AI Configurations
• Create new configurations from scratch
• Edit, duplicate, or disable existing ones
• Test configurations using the built-in Preview tool

Structure of an AI Configuration

Each configuration acts as a reusable “blueprint” that defines how AI should generate or translate content. A configuration contains the following key sections:

1. General Information

Basic identifiers for your configuration:

• Label: A human-readable name
• Code: A unique internal reference
• Status: Enable or disable the configuration

2. Target & Source - Data to take into account

Defines what data the AI should use and where the generated output will go.
You can select:

• A specific target attribute (e.g., Product Description)
• One or more source attributes that provide input context (e.g., Product Name, Material, Short Description)

(Note: Target/Source configuration is not applicable for translation-only setups.)

3. PX Insights User Reviews (Optional)

If PX Insights is enabled for your environment, you can choose to include relevant customer reviews automatically.
This additional data can help the AI better understand real user perceptions and emphasize authentic product benefits.

4. Assets (Optional)

Include image or document assets as part of the context used by AI. Assets can come from collection attributes, which host Assets in the PIM. This allows the AI to analyze visuals and extract details (such as product color, materials, or certifications).

5. Instruction Prompt

The prompt defines how the AI should process your selected data.
You can:

• Choose from predefined Akeneo prompt templates
• Write your own custom instruction directly
• Well-designed prompts lead to better, more consistent results.

You can later evaluate and optimize these prompts using the AI Prompt Optimizer and Rewriter

• Use the integrated Preview tool to test prompts on specific products before saving or applying them broadly. You can preview both text generation and translation outputs instantly.

Reduced Maintenance

• If a prompt or enrichment strategy changes, updating it in one configuration automatically applies it wherever that configuration is used.
