February 2020 Serenity updates

This month Serenity updates include two new improvements: a new asset management operation to optimize the weight of your transformed files and new warning messages on usernames for the Connections

Summary

Optimize the weight of your assets

Type: Improvement  |  Feature: Asset Manager  |  Available in Serenity EE since late February  |  📖 Read the doc

If you need to reduce the size of your images, you can now use a new operation optimize_jpeg. This transformation operation will compress your file to a jpeg.

Indeed, before applying transformations on your assets, we first convert your files into png to avoid any image quality loss. This conversion can increase the size of your media files. By using this new operation, you can easily optimize the weight of your new images and thus save asset storage space.

New warning message on connection usernames

Type: Improvement  |  Feature: Connections  |  Available in Serenity EE since late February  |  📖 Read the doc

Whenever one of your connectors is not using the dedicated connection username, we display a warning message in the main Connections screen as well as in the Connection form.

This warning message mentions which usernames were wrongly used for this connection and when they were used for the last time.
Thanks to this improvement, we ensure the API connection security and accesses.

Want to discover why we need to guarantee this? Read our help center section about why it is crucial to use the username of your connection.
