How to manipulate the columns that are displayed?

In Supplier Data Manager (SDM), any table view lets you control which columns are visible, their order, their width, and how they are sorted. Your column preferences are saved per browser, so each user can maintain their own custom layout.

The screenshot above shows an SDM table view with column controls at the top, including the Columns button and sortable column headers with arrow indicators.

Choose which columns to display

To select which columns appear in an SDM table:

  1. Click the Columns button at the top of the table. The button label shows how many columns are currently visible out of the total (for example, Columns (5/12)).
  2. In the Configure Columns modal that opens, check or uncheck individual columns to show or hide them. Use Select All to show all columns, or Clear to hide all non-pinned columns.
  3. Click Apply to confirm your selection.

Pinned columns cannot be hidden or reordered. They always remain visible and in their fixed position.

Reorder columns

To move a column to a different position in an SDM table:

  1. Open the Configure Columns modal by clicking the Columns button.
  2. In the list of selected columns, click and hold the drag handle (⠿) next to the column you want to move, then drag it to its new position.
  3. Click Apply to save the new order.

Alternatively, you can drag column headers directly in the table by clicking and holding a header, then dragging it left or right to its new position.

Sort columns

To sort rows by a column's values, click the column header. An arrow indicator shows the current sort direction:

  • Arrow pointing up: ascending order (A → Z, or lowest to highest for numerical columns).
  • Arrow pointing down: descending order (Z → A, or highest to lowest).

Click the header again to reverse the sort direction.

Resize columns

To adjust a column's width, hover over the edge of a column header until the resize cursor appears, then click and drag to the desired width. This lets you see the full text of truncated values.

Navigate between pages

Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the table to move between pages. You can also set the number of rows displayed per page (10, 25, 50, or 100 rows).

How column preferences are saved

In Supplier Data Manager, column visibility, order, and width are saved in your browser's local storage. This means:

  • Preferences are specific to each browser on each device.
  • Each user maintains their own custom layout independently.
  • Preferences are not shared across devices or browsers.
