Media mapping

This section provides an overview of media mapping in the Akeneo App for Shopify.

 

Media

Shopify media refers to the collection of visual assets, such as images, videos, and 3D models, that are associated with products in a Shopify store. These media files play a crucial role in showcasing products and providing customers with a visual representation of what they can expect to receive.

 

List of Akeneo attributes compatible with Shopify media

Asset collections Images, Videos • Up to 250 images or videos - mixed - per product

Images
• Accepted asset attribute type: media file, media link
• Accepted media type: image

Videos
• Accepted asset attribute type: media link 
• Accepted media type: Vimeo, YouTube
 

 

How to map media?

Image attribute

  1. In the Native fields tab, click on EDIT MEDIA MAPPING  
  2. Now, choose Image as a media source.
  3. You can now map an image attribute.
  4. Click on Save mapping.

    It is not possible to map a mix of images and asset collections.

     
 
 

Asset collection

  1. In the Native fields tab, click on EDIT MEDIA MAPPING  
  2. Now, choose Asset collection as a media source.
  3. You can now map an asset collection
  4. Select an asset attribute in the asset family related to your asset collection.
  5. Click on Save mapping.

    It is not possible to map a mix of images and asset collections.

     

 

 
 

Please note that it is possible to re-order your media. To do this, select your media - click on the icon with three stripes - and drag the attribute to the desired position.
