Create and manage Contributor Organizations

A Contributor Organization represents an external company whose users submit and enrich product data through a Contributor Portal. Create Contributor Organizations in Akeneo PIM and assign each organization to the portal its users must access.

Before you start

  • Your role must include the Manage contributor organizations permission.
  • Create at least one Contributor Portal before creating a Contributor Organization.
  • Identify the default Channel and Locale contributors use when they enrich products.

Create a Contributor Organization

To create a Contributor Organization in Akeneo PIM:

  1. Go to System > External access > Contributor Organizations.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Enter the Contributor Organization Name.
  4. Select the required Contributor Portal access. Every user in the Contributor Organization signs in through this Contributor Portal.
  5. Select the required Default channel.
  6. Select the required Default locale. The available Locales depend on the selected Channel.
  7. Click Create.

The Create organization dialog requires a Name, Contributor Portal access, Default channel, and Default locale.

Update a Contributor Organization

To update a Contributor Organization in Akeneo PIM, go to System > External access > Contributor Organizations and open the organization. The General tab lets you change its Name, assigned Contributor Portal, default Channel, default Locale, and two-factor authentication setting.

Use Avatar > Upload to add an optional image for the Contributor Organization. Click Save after changing the organization.

Require MFA for a Contributor Organization

To require multi-factor authentication (MFA) for every external user in one Contributor Organization, open its General tab and set Require two-factor authentication (MFA) to Enabled. Click Save to apply the requirement.

Each contributor in the organization must then set up an authenticator app and enter a one-time code during sign-in.

Find a Contributor Organization

The Contributor Organizations page lists each organization's Name and number of Users. Use the search field to find an organization by name, then select its row to open its settings.

The Contributor Organizations list provides a search field and displays each organization's Name, avatar, and Users count.

Delete a Contributor Organization

To delete a Contributor Organization in Akeneo PIM, open it, select Other actions, and click Delete. Confirm the deletion to remove the organization.

Deleting a Contributor Organization also deletes its associated external users. This action cannot be undone.
