Manage Product Grid Views in a Business Unit

Summary

When Business Units are enabled, product grid views can be scoped to a specific Business Unit. A scoped view is only visible to users whose User Groups are linked to that Business Unit, making it easier for each team to find views relevant to their data.

Create a view scoped to a Business Unit

  1. Open the product grid.
  2. Apply the filters and column configuration you want to save.
  3. Open the view selector and click Save as new view.
  4. Enter a name for the view.
  5. Set the view type to Public. The Business Unit selector only appears for public views.
  6. In the Business Unit dropdown, select the Business Unit you want to scope this view to.
  7. Click Save.

The Business Unit dropdown only appears when at least one Business Unit exists on your instance and the feature is enabled. It is not shown for private views.

Business Unit selection based on your role

The options available in the Business Unit dropdown differ depending on your permissions:

Role Available options
Super Admin All Business Units, or no Business Unit (view visible to all users)
Business Unit user Only Business Units linked to your User Groups. The first Business Unit is pre-selected. You cannot leave the field empty or create a fully public view.

Identify views by Business Unit

In the view selector, each view scoped to a Business Unit displays the Business Unit label next to the view name. Views with no Business Unit label are accessible to all users.

Visibility rules for scoped views

A view scoped to a Business Unit follows these rules:

  • Users in a User Group linked to the Business Unit can see and use the view.
  • Users with no link to that Business Unit cannot see the view in their selector.
  • Super Admins can see all views regardless of Business Unit scoping.
