Set up your Business Units

Summary

As a Super Admin, you can create and configure Business Units, assign User Groups to them, and control which users belong to each Business Unit.

Business Units are available when the feature is enabled on your instance. Only users with the Super Admin permission can create, edit, and delete Business Units or manage their User Group assignments.

Access Business Units

  1. Go to System in the main navigation.
  2. Click User management.
  3. Click Business Units.

The Business Units list displays all existing Business Units. Super Admins see all Business Units; users without the Super Admin permission cannot access this section.

Create a Business Unit

  1. On the Business Units page, click Create.
  2. Enter a unique Code for the Business Unit. The code is used as a permanent identifier and cannot be changed after creation.
  3. Enter a Label for each active Locale. Labels are displayed in the interface and can be updated at any time.
  4. Click Save.

The Business Unit code must be unique across your instance. It cannot be modified after the Business Unit is created.

Edit a Business Unit

  1. On the Business Units list, click the Business Unit you want to edit.
  2. On the Properties tab, update the Labels as needed.
  3. Click Save.

User Groups linked to a Business Unit determine which users belong to it. Users in a linked User Group are scoped to that Business Unit and see only the grid views assigned to it.

  1. On the Business Units list, click the Business Unit you want to configure.
  2. Click the User Groups tab.
  3. Select the User Groups you want to link to this Business Unit.
  4. Click Save.

Delete a Business Unit

  1. On the Business Units list, click the Business Unit you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion in the modal.

Deleting a Business Unit is permanent. User Group links to the deleted Business Unit are removed, and users in those groups are no longer scoped to it.
