Gain deeper insights into your Google Shopping performance by integrating Akeneo with Google Shopping. This integration allows you to view key signals directly within your PIM, facilitating data-driven decision making.

Setup Google Shopping app

The following steps will guide you through the necessary configuration process:

  1. Establish an application connection with Google Shopping
  2. Grant Akeneo user access within your Google Merchant Center
  3. Input your Google Shopping Merchant ID into Akeneo PIM

Step 1: Establish an application connection with Google Shopping

  1. To connect the app, go to the Connect section > App Store and look for your Google Shopping app. Press the Connect button. You will have to go through a few steps to enable Akeneo & Google Shopping systems to interact with each other.
  2. Enable Google Shopping to access to some Akeneo data. Click Allow & Next on the top right.
  3. Then you will need to agree to the App's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use by checking the box. Click Next on the top right.
  4. Last but not least, you will have to confirm all the previous steps. Click on the button Confirm on the top right of the screen.

Once you are done, the Akeneo & Google Shopping systems are now connected to each other. However, you will not be able to see signals from Google Shopping in the PIM yet as you first need to configure your Google Shopping credentials.

Step 2: Grant Akeneo user access within your Google Merchant Center

  1. Go to your Google Merchant Center account
  2. Select the Setting and tools menu > People and access
  3. Click the Add a person button
  1. Copy and paste this email: prd-google-shopping@akecld-prd-cipr-prd.iam.gserviceaccount.com. Then click on the Following button
  2. Give the following permissions: Standard and Performance & Insights. Press the Add button.

To leverage the full power of PX Insights, we advise you to also give us the same permissions in your Google Ads account linked to your Google Merchant Center. You can follow the same process described above as well as the same email address. For more details, you can check this Google documentation.

You are almost done 🙂 Go back to you Akeneo Google Shopping App in the PIM to finalize the setup and start visualizing Google Shopping insights.

Step 3: Configure your Google Shopping Merchant ID in Akeneo PIM

You will now be able to connect with the Akeneo PIM the Google Shopping Merchant ID of your choice.

For now, we only support one merchant ID but we will very soon enable more.

  1. In Akeneo PIM, go to the Connect section > Connected Apps and look for your Google Shopping app. Press the Open App button.
  2. Then click the Add a Merchant ID button on the top right and Save.
  3. Enter the Name & Merchant ID and press Save

Your connection is now complete 🎉 The initial synchronization might take more than a day depending on the volume of data.

If your Google Shopping product inventory exceeds 1 million units per Merchant ID, please contact the Akeneo Support team.

Once the app is activated, everyone who has access to the PIM will also have access to Google Shopping signals.
