Generating AI Attributes with PX Insights

Summary

Overview

Once you have diagnosed data gaps with the AI Readiness Checker, use the AI Content Generator to fix them.

This tool uses Generative AI to analyze your existing product data, web presence, and user reviews. It automatically creates the high-value structured content (like FAQs, Use Cases, and Intent tags) that search engines require, saving you hours of manual copywriting.

Step 1: Create the PX Insights - Attribute Group

  1. After running your first AI readiness score you will be able to create a new Attribute Group containing 5 key attributes most catalogs lack
  2. Select the Create AI Attributes button
  3. In the background, this new Attribute group will be added to your families

These attributes have the following main settings per default:

  • Text area type
  • Localizable
  • Not-scopable
  • Not usable in grid
  • Not mandatory

Only users with permissions to create attributes will be able to add this Attribute group.

As we learn from the GEO landscape, we may add new AI optimized attributes.

Step 2: Enrich the newly created attributes

  1. Navigate to your Product Grid in Akeneo or press the Enrich AI Attributes from the AI readiness tab. Click on any product you wish to enrich to open the product edit form.
  2. Scroll down to the PX Insights - AI Attributes attribute group. Here you will see the empty text areas for attributes like "FAQs," "Occasion," or "Customer Intents."
  3. Select the new Ask AI button on the top right of your screen.
  4. Click the Generate with PX Insights option and select your target attribute from the available drop down list.
  5. Text is then generated using AI. The AI uses a hybrid approach, scanning your existing PIM data, web sources, and user reviews to create the content.
  6. Review the provided content together with metadata:
    • The Generated Content: The actual text (e.g., the Question and Answer) that will be saved.
    • Confidence Score: A rating (e.g., 9/10). This indicates how much verifiable evidence the AI found to support this claim. A high score means the data was cross-referenced against official sources.
  7. Reasoning: A strategic explanation of why this specific content was chosen (e.g., "This FAQ addresses a high-intent purchase blocker").
  8. If satisfies with the content you can Fill in the attribute otherwise you can Reject and regenerate a content.
  9. Once attribute is filled in you can always edit and adapt the content.

Good to know

How the AI Works (The Hybrid Approach)

Our AI does not "guess." It uses a Hybrid Sourcing Strategy to ensure accuracy:

  • PIM Data: It first reads your existing product information.
  • Web Search: It scans your official website and authoritative retailer pages to verify claims.
  • User Reviews: It analyzes real customer feedback to identify sentiment trends and actual usage scenarios (e.g., "Great for hiking").

This ensures the output is factually accurate, SEO-optimized, and grounded in real user behavior.

The Confidence Score Explained

The Confidence Score (0-10) is your quality assurance guide.

  • Scores 9-10 (High): The AI found direct confirmation of this fact on the manufacturer's website or in multiple user reviews. Safe to accept.
  • Scores 6-8 (Medium): The AI inferred this information based on strong evidence, but it may require a quick human review.
  • Scores 0-5 (Low): The AI could not find sufficient evidence to verify the claim. You should verify this manually before accepting.

Important technical notes

  • Dedicated AI Attributes: Content generation is exclusive to specific PX Insights attributes (identified by the px_insights_ prefix in the attribute code).
  • Generation Scope: Currently, content generation is performed within the Product Edit Form (PEF) on an individual product basis. Bulk actions and the Rule Engine are not supported for AI generation at this time.
  • Language Support: AI content generation is currently available in English only.
  • Permissions & Access: Standard PIM permissions apply. Users must have the appropriate rights to create or edit attributes to utilize these features.
  • Attribute Management: If a PX Insights attribute is deleted, it can be easily restored via the PX Insights > AI Readiness tab.
  • Evolving Optimization: As the Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) landscape evolves, Akeneo will periodically introduce new AI-optimized attributes to ensure your data remains competitive.

Important: The Visibility Rule

To maintain a high AI Trust Score and avoid SEO penalties, ensure that any AI-generated attributes (such as FAQs or Use Cases) are published to a visible section of your product page. Search engines and AI models may penalize "Schema Cloaking"—where data exists in the code but is hidden from the actual user. Consistency = Trust = Visibility.
