Multistore management

Summary

Multistore management

This section provides information on managing multiple stores using the Akeneo App for Shopify.

What is multistore management?

Multistore management enables you to synchronize your PIM catalog with multiple Shopify stores. It allows you to customize your configuration (channel, locale, currency, and synchronization filters) and attribute mapping for each individual store.

Connect a new store

Follow these steps to connect to a new store:

  1. In your Akeneo App for Shopify, navigate to the Store list.
  2. Click on Connect a new store or Connect Shopify. You will be redirected to Shopify.
  3. In Shopify, select the store you want to connect with the app and click on Install app.
  4. Once the app is installed, you will be redirected back to your Akeneo App.

The number of stores you can connect depends on your app plan: up to 3 stores on the Standard plan and up to 30 stores on the Enterprise plan. When the limit is reached, the Connect a new store button is disabled. To connect more stores, contact your Akeneo Customer Success Manager.

Disconnected stores still count toward this limit; deleted stores do not. Reconnecting a store that is already in your store list does not count as a new store.

Each connected store adds synchronizations to run: keep in mind the impact on performance when you connect many stores.

Please note that if you wish to connect more than one store in a row, it is necessary to log out of Shopify after each new store connection.

Reconnect a store

If the Akeneo App has been uninstalled from a Shopify store, the store will automatically disconnect from the app, and you will no longer have access to it. The connection status in your store list will be marked as Disconnected.

To reconnect a store, follow these steps:

  1. In your App, go to the Store list.
  2. Click on Reconnect. You will be redirected to Shopify.
  3. In Shopify, click on Install app to reconnect the store. Your store will now be reconnected.

Delete a store

To delete a store from your Akeneo App, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Store list.
  2. On the line of the store, click the trash icon (Delete Store).
  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking on Delete when prompted.

The delete button is disabled while a synchronization is running on the store or while a mapping is being generated.

Deleting a store uninstalls the Akeneo App from the associated Shopify store. The store data (configuration, mapping, and synchronization history) is kept for 30 days: reconnecting the same store during this period restores its configuration. To start over from scratch, contact the Akeneo Support team.

How to change stores?

There are two ways to switch between stores within the Akeneo App for Shopify:

  1. Click on Store list in the header to go back. Alternatively, you can use the back button of your browser.
  2. Use the dropdown list in the header of the app. Selecting a store from the dropdown will automatically redirect you to the Configuration page of the selected store.
