This section explains how to use AI-powered auto-mapping for generating your Shopify store setup.
What is AI-powered auto-mapping?
AI-powered auto-mapping is a feature that automates the initial setup of your store configuration. Instead of mapping each field manually (store configuration, native fields, metafields, etc.), the app collects the structure of your Akeneo PIM (active channels, attributes, families) and the structure of your Shopify store. This data is processed by an AI model to generate a complete mapping based on the closest semantic matches between fields.
Using AI-powered auto-mapping
Generate a complete store setup in one click
If your Shopify store has no existing configuration, you can generate the complete mapping in a single click.
The auto-mapping will cover the following sections: Store configuration, Native fields, Media, Metafields - PIM attributes, Metafields - PIM associations, and Metafields - PIM asset collections.
At the end of the process, the generated mapping is automatically saved.
Follow these steps to auto-map your complete store:
- In the app, go to the Store list.
- If your store has not been configured yet, a Generate mapping button will be displayed.
- Click the button and wait until the generation is complete.
- Review the generated mapping and adjust any fields if needed.
Please note that the ‘Generate mapping’ button will be disabled if a configuration already exists for your Shopify store.
Important: Do not refresh the page while auto-mapping is running, as this will interrupt the generation process.
Generate a specific section mapping
If you only want to generate the mapping for a specific section of your store, follow these steps:
- In the app, open the store you want to configure.
- Navigate to the tab of the section you want to generate.
- In the top-right corner of the screen (next to Save), click on the Generate mapping/configuration button.
Please note that the button will be disabled if a mapping already exists for this section. - Review the generated mapping and adjust any fields if needed.
- Save your new mapping.
