Every value shows its sources
Each suggested value comes with the website or websites the AI used. You can open them from the review card or the Workflow review screen to check the information before you accept it. A value is only proposed if it is backed by at least one source.
Publisher permission check
Before a website is used as a source, the system checks whether that site allows AI use, based on the site's published permission files. If a publisher explicitly disallows AI use, the value is dropped and you are warned. If a site does not state a preference, it is treated as allowed.
Websites you choose to block
Each configuration has its own list of blocked websites. The AI is told not to use them, and after it responds, every cited website is checked against your list. If a blocked website is cited, the AI is asked to try once more; if it still relies on a blocked website, the suggestion is rejected and the message names the website involved.
Facts versus creative content
The system automatically recognises what kind of Attribute it is filling and handles each appropriately:
| Kind of Attribute | How it is handled |
| Facts (Number, Measurement, Date, Yes/No, Price) | Returns the precise value, backed by sources. |
| Creative text (Text and Text Area) | Writes an original synthesis across sources and does not copy any source word for word. |
| Options (Simple select, Multi select, Reference Entity, Asset collection) | Matches the answer to the options that already exist in your catalog. |
For creative text, the AI is instructed never to copy more than a short run of consecutive words from any single source, and to rephrase in its own words while keeping the facts accurate.
Human review
When you use Ask AI, you review and approve each value yourself before it is saved. When Web-based attribute enrichment runs inside a Workflow, values must through the Workflow review step first.
Values from Rules are not reviewed
Enrichment applied through a Rule is written to products without a review step. When you want a person to approve values first, use Ask AI or a Workflow.
Keeping control of your content
Web-based attribute enrichment is a customer-controlled feature. You remain responsible for the content you publish, including any third-party material brought in through enrichment. The safeguards above reduce risk, and the review steps keep the final decision with you.
