Manage SDM Staging Catalog settings

Summary

Control how product data processed through Supplier Data Manager (SDM) enters your Akeneo PIM catalog. You can merge products automatically or keep them in the Staging Catalog for review.

Manage permissions

Your role needs the Manage staging catalog settings permission to access and update these settings.

Understand the merge options

You can configure merge behavior independently for files uploaded by your team and files uploaded by suppliers.

Option Result
Auto merge Products processed through an SDM workflow are merged automatically into the primary catalog.
Manual merge Products remain in the Staging Catalog so your team can review and merge them manually.

Both settings use Auto merge by default. Changing a setting only affects future merge decisions.

Configure merge settings

  1. In the PIM, go to System.
  2. In the External access section, select SDM Staging catalog.
  3. For Files uploaded to SDM by your team, select Auto merge or Manual merge.
  4. For Files uploaded by suppliers, select Auto merge or Manual merge.
  5. Click Save.

The settings apply independently. For example, you can automatically merge files uploaded by your team while keeping files uploaded by suppliers in the Staging Catalog for review.

Products enriched in Supplier Portal

Products assigned directly to a Supplier in the PIM do not pass through an SDM workflow. These products always require manual review before they can be merged.

Review products before merging

When you select Manual merge, SDM completes the processing flow without adding the product to the primary catalog. The product remains available in the PIM Staging Catalog.

  1. Open the SDM Staging Catalog.
  2. Review the incoming product data and resolve any issues.
  3. Merge the product from the grid, the product page, or a bulk action.
